Dog Show

I started showing Sara from a Baby class. She seems she enjoys attending the shows but she doesn't like judges' examination. Janis used to have the same problem when she was young and I wonder if this might be a genetic problem. :-)

Above: Sara at her first dog show.

Left: Sara's last show in a Puppy Class. She went to the Best Puppy In Show and this was the biggest surprise.

Sara is now 11 months old and should be competed in regular classes. (In Japan, puppy class is only for the puppies from 6 to 9 months and no CC card for the title is issued.)

Since there are few chances for standard poodles to get a CC card in Japanese shows, I'd like not to hurry to finish her. Ah well, in other words, we need time!! (Janis finished so quickly because she was just lucky.)

The photo on right is taken at Osaka show and Sara is about 10.5 months old. She could win Winners Bitch but due to the lack of entries, we couldn't get a CC.
Sara is a bit smaller. She stands only about 22" at the shoulder. She is also short-backed and that makes her look smaller too. I hope she will grow another inch or at least 3/4".

Other news

Other than Janis puppies, there were another news.

1) My husband and I have closed our printing business in September.
Our business had been slow in these years and we decided to close it. Closing a company was a lot of work and we were busy doing many paper works for a while. Now my huband is retired.

2) Now we are planning to move from Kawasaki.
We have a piece of land in suburban area and we have just started to talk to a building company. This may make us busy again but moving to a quiet place and living in a bigger house is what I was wanting for.

3) I have passed the Certification Examination For Professional Dog Trainers - Knowledge Assessed in September.
Now I can put CPDT-KA (Certified Pet Dog Trainer - Knowledge Asseseed) after my name.
Since my husband is retired and my own dog related business is slow too, I started training classes at a veterinary clinic few days a month. This makes me busy but fun.
